I have found that Meguiars "Hot Rims" All Wheel Cleaner works well. I compared all the "easy" wheel cleaners in Pep Boys and this one was the only one that said "apply to wet wheels". All the others said "apply to dry wheels". I ask you: when you're washing your car, are your wheels dry?????

I spray it on wet wheels, wait 15-20 seconds & spray off with high-pressure. It does a real good job of removing the worst of it, but I always go back and wipe down the wheels with a soap-and-water rag. This is for two reasons, first to get the details and second to get the possibly corrosive wheel cleaner off those clear-coated wheels! (It smells like lye.)

Thumbs up

I've been using the Orange Cleaner which surprisingly worked better than other cleaner that I've used in the past. I don't even have to scrub any more. It sprays right off.

I've gotta agree with n8vz on using Simple Green. I tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago and it works like a charm! I usually give each spoke of my wheels 2 spray-bottle shots before I run it through the local carwash (touchless carwash, of course). The water from the carwash rinses it all off, and I can usually knock whatever loose dirt is left with a cotton towel.

I have to agree. I used this cleaner for the first time this past weekend. I was amazed at how easily it worked. I did the wheels after spraying down the whole car with a prerinse. Then washed the whole car. After that I just lightly went over the wheels once again with the general wash water to make sure any chemical residue was washed off. Saves a lot of work. Truly a spray and rinse solution.

I have been using Hot Rims for years now. I spray it mostly behind the spokes where is it harder to get and it does a great job.

I use Mothers Wheel Mist. Its in a yellow spray bottle (I think thats what its called) Works well and is fairly inexpensive.
