Default Best scratch repair method?

Fockin' someone keyed my car last week. I didn't even see it till yesterday. I've used Meguiar's Scratch X on it... no luck, it's kind of deep. Does that stuff on TV work? That "As Seen on TV" scratch remover thing... or anything else that might help? Thanks.

If it's scratched through the paint to the primer, you'll have to get it repainted. If it's only paint deep, sometimes you can buff it out with a high speed buffer...

Why are you trying to fix the car. Take it to a pro. Isn’t that what insurance is for.

The scratch is about a size of a quarter...

got any friends/hook ups who are decent with a high speed buffer?

my girl and i went to the the beach about a month ago. we took her 2 day old BMW. went to get back in the car at the end of the day-- huge key mark running along both passenger side doors.

I tried buffing out with Scratch X. Same thing as you- No luck. it helped, but it was still very visible.
Took it to my friend who just "dabbles" with car restoration on the side. He completely got rid of it. you can't even see it, and this was at least 3 feet of key mark.
So if its not too deep. I'm sure it can be fixed.

Oddly enough- she didn't even flip when we she saw it. I would have flipped if the suby or Z had gotten keyed.

are you sure you got keyed then? that is a really half-*** keying job. if it is that small then it isnt that bad, but i really feel for you; im sorry to hear that happened.

i wish i could meet people that keyed cars so i could beat their f*cking head in with a bat and smash all of their fingers with a hammer. well see how many cars they are able to key afterwards...

If it's through the clearcoat and into the paint it is going to need to be repainted. No way around it. If it's a deep scratch but not through the clear coat it should buff out, maybe need wet-sanded. I would help you out but your on the other side of the country.

I took a closer look at it and it's a fockin' dent. I went to OSH (Hardware Supply)... and it was probably an old person who just wasn't careful. Oh well... ****in' **** hahah

I had some deep scratches on a black RSX and I took it to my body shop and they wet sanded it, which removed them. Cost me about 50 bucks

Anything that is "As seen on TV" is crap.

and the hand glaze is a fix...until the first rain comes.

Depending on how deep it is, you could wet sand/buff it. But I would not experiment on your own car without getting the feel of how to do it.
