Default quick detail question

hey guys, is it normal for chrome silver to get dirty so fast? i mean its like a white car instead. how do you guys keep water spots from forming on the car. i keep the car wet constantly then dry off fast. but it still seems to occur.

and one last question, how do you get waterspots off glass easily? my side mirrors really covered in it and its affecting how well i can see in the mirror.

I keep the vehicle in the shade as much as possible before washing. Get absolutely everything ready before backing the car out for the wash. Rinse the paint frequently and pull it back in the garage immediately after finishing.

For very light etchings and build ups you can use the Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover. This is a strong chemical that can help clean the surface. If you have light etchings or deeper you'll probably need to polish them out. This step is ideally done with a buffer and at least a light polish, but generally a medium is needed as well. For the glass the Glass Science Glass Scrub is a great option for deep cleaning the glass and removing water marks. Just use a damp applicator and buff it on the glass and you should be able to remove them no problem. You can also protect the glass with the Glass Science Rain Clear Gel if interested.

Water spots can be removed from glass with a glass polish. Generic glass cleaners such as Windex are not strong enough.

+1 on the chemical guys water spot remover. Make sure your paint and car surfaces are cool to the touch before washing, if they are warm the water will dry on the parts quicker and cause more water spots. Also keep a good layer of wax or sealant to help keep the water spots from etching onto the surface.

If there minor and occur often i tend to add a little bit of chemical guys watersport remover to whatever soap im using at the time. Assuming its a detail and not a maintenance wash.

Try owning a black car, its dirty by the time you get out of the driveway.

OP, try using white vinegar to remove the water spots.
