Default spilled coke in car

I spilled a 32 oz. diet coke on the floor of my Z on the passenger side.

i hate the smell of some of those carpet shampoo things so i just used a towel and tried to soak it up. most of it seemed to be saturated in the mat itself so i just put the mat in the sink and rinsed it for awhile and let it air dry outside.

i forgot to bring the mat in at the end of the day and it rained overnight.

before this gets too out of hand, i would like to ask some advice from the forum to see what people here would suggest i do to get my car clean. this morning, i noticed a smell because i put the mat back in. i really do not want to get a smell in the car.

Thank God it was a Diet Coke and not a sugared one. Just go to a car wash and use the foam carpet cleaning unit. It's really just water and flavoring. No big deal.

moral is: milk in the car is the worst smell ever... and dont get in the girls car.

The Chemical Guys fabric cleaner and so fast odor remover worked well for me. You an also go rent a carpet cleaner or invest in the green machine for future car detailing or house use. Let me see if I can find my post with the CG stuff...

After time there wasn't a specific odor problem, but more of a musty smell. So today I decided to attack da funk once and for all. Weapons of choice were Sofast Odor Eater and Fabric Cleaner.

I started by dilting the fabric clean to 15:1 (slightly stronger than necessary) and misted the fabric, let it sit for about thirty seconds and then agitated it with a towel. It was nice to see the coffee stains come out, a couple of my java chips took two to three scrubbings. After that it was time to take the gloves off and attack the little microbes driving me nuts.

I diluted the Sofast Odor Eater about 10:1 for a fighting chance. I misted the fabric and let it do its work while misting a microfiber and wiping off the panels for good measure. I closed the doors and allowed the heating to run for about twenty mintutes to help dry out all the fungis clubbing in my vents as well. Came back twenty minutes later to the smell of green apples. Funny, don't remember planting those.

24 hrs. later and I still get fresh apples that is faint enough to say "I don't stink" but, not so strong as you are looking around for a Tijuana hooker. I'll update it in a couple days to see how long the scent lingers as well as whether or not da funk returns for vengeance. In the meantime I am asking starbucks for sippy cups.

I (my wife) spilled a big can of Red Bull during a road trip, directly on my seat, carpet, and in seatbelt mechanism... Griot's Interior Cleaner did a great job, no problem or stink, and I didn't have to use much. I am not a fan of Griot's... this is the one product I buy from them because it is really good stuff. Good luck.

My wife spilled 2 cups of iced coffee from Mc Donalds.. smelled SO bad.. I asked her if she had the drinks before I made the turn " ya I've got them geezz"

I cleaned it but it took atleast 2 weeks for the smell to go away.

I recommend Zerorez's cleaner. You just add their powder to a spray bottle of water. It takes stains out really, really well and it is just water that is treated to a different PH level, so there is no soap or detergent to attract dirt in the future. I used it on some really bad stains from my kids that I couldn't get out with a Rug Doctor or another cleaning company. It came up in about 30 seconds, so I had them come clean my whole house with their treated water.

I must confess, that one of their franchisees is a client of mine, but I get nothing for referring you to them. I think his site is www.zerorezphoenix.com. I need to do a stain in my wife's car that Meguiar's wouldn't take out. If I'm bored, maybe I'll post some pics of the before/after.
