Default Proper waxing/buffing attachement for makita 9227c?

I was gifted this sander/polisher and it has an adjustable speed down to 600rpm. As a person who hates waxing/buffing i thought i would order some wool bonnets that were highly rated off of amazon. Well they arrived and arent nearly as soft as my cobra microfiber towels

With the wool bonnet will it scratch my finish on a clean car during wax application and buffing? Id hate to test it on my corvette.....

If it isnt the right bonnet can someone tell me of one that would be better or am i just SOL.

Wool is usually only used for deeper imperfections. I would not use wool unless it was my last resort. I would recommend Lake Country CCS foam pads. Get a few of different colors to get the correction you need. There is a color guide to let you know which color has more cutting ability. If you have never used a rotary before I would suggest testing it out on a old hood and getting the hang of it first. A rotary can burn through paint with ease if not used correctly. Read up on autopia.org to get a better understanding of what pads and polishes you will need for your project. Good luck!
