Question sap & scratches

Does anybody know how to get rid of minor scratches on rear stabilizer bar?

I also read on one of the threads that alcohol is good for removing sap...is it not going to damage the paint???

Any help is highly appreciated....thanks!

Other's have posted in the past that using rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) will not damage the finish. I'm gonna try it tomorrow morning on a small, inconspicuous area of the car, just to see if any black rubs off on the towel! Should be fine though. I am using it to remove the residue from the white protective plastic sheeting used on the car while it was shipped.

If any black comes off, that would be really bad because that would mean that you stripped the clear coat.

Yeah, that would be grounds for murder.

You should dilute the alcohol to a 25% alcohol/75% water solution.

So I used full strength 91% isopropyl alcohol (off the shelf rubbing alcohol) and it didn't do didly as far as removing the sticker residue. However, after applying Z5 directly onto the car I was able to rub the stuff off with a cotton towel in seconds. Still not sure about how it works on sap. But no clear coat/paint damage.
