Paint imperfections on hood
I recently purchased an 04 silver 350Z and the hood has some imperfections on the paint. I was hoping somebody may be able to shed some light on what it could be or how I could fix it.
It looks like the car was splashed by something while driving that has "eaten" the paint. Most of the spots are on the hood and there are a couple spots on the roof. Some of the spots are larger (size of a penny) and some are small "splash-like" marks.

I've seen a couple silver hood for sale under $200 so I may go that route rather than repainting. What do you think?
Thanks.

I would try using a clay bar on it first to remove any surface contaminants. I would then try some adhesive remover if you still think there is surface contaminants left behind. I would then try to polish the surface to make the claer coat look and feel more uniform again. Start off with a nice light polish (i.e. Menzerna PO106FA) and then use more aggressive polishes as needed (i.e. Menzerna PO83 - medium or Menzerna Power Gloss - heavy). Let me know if you have any other questions.
