I have a waffle weave towel that a purchased a few years. Has some stains. Is it still good?
Let car dry in sun and developed water spots. How do i remove?

 

Why not just buy a new one?

also, dont wash your car in the sun, but if its just a few spots I usually just wipe with the damp waffle towel, but if its the whole car it might be good to re-rinse or re-wash

Waffe weaves are fairly cheap and it wouldn't be a bad idea to purchase a new one, you can use your old towel on the first pass to get most of the water off and follow up with the new towel and a little quick detailer to finish it up to perfection. I second never washing your car in direct sunlight or when the paint is still warm. Water spots can sometimes be wiped off with a towel and quick detailer, but if they really dried on and had a lot of deposits, you might have to rewash to get them off completely. The Big Blue Towel and concentrated Detailer & Gloss Enhancer are great values. The QD seems expensive until you realize its a concentrate and will last your forever. I bought a bottle about six months ago and have filled three of my old meguiars bottles up with a ton still left.

 

The safest route is to invest in a new DI Microfiber Waffle Weave Drying Towel - 36" x 24". If you want to keep your towel then try treating those areas with some cleaner (i.e. 303 Cleaner & Spot Remover - 32 oz or Tide, etc.) and wash them again. Then test them on the back of a CD and see if they still add scratches.

Gonna have to try some of that cleaner on my older waffle weave, it doesn't seem to hold as much water or dry as well ever since the mrs. washed it with a ton of fabric softener. Darn them women folk...

 

Yes that is one of the few rules with microfiber towels, no fabric softener.
