Default Weird streaks on car after I wash it

Don't know what the hell it is. Looks like it may be from the clay bar, but how?? There are these streak marks after I wash my car. They come off with your finger when you rub them. I always apply Z2 now after I wash the car to get rid of these damn streaks. Buffing doesnt seem to do the trick. Any ideas? I thought at first it was from the claybar application last week, but I doubt it. After I clayed the car, I washed it and then used Meguiars Scratch X on the ENTIRE car. ScrtachX would of removed any clay residue left. I followed with Z5 and then Z2.

Have never had streaks! If you apply Z2 after each washing, that means you are applying a polish after each washing. True or False? Put Z6 on after Z5, Z2 and after washing with Z7.

Are you using ZFX with Z5 or Z2? If not, how long did you let it dry before buffing? How much are you using? If you are or are not using ZFX, the mixing bottle is 2 ounces and it takes less than 1 ounce to do a "Z".

Yea, I apply polish everytime I wash the car. I fill the bottle 75% with z2 and put 4 drops of ZFX. The streaks occur everytime I wash and dry the car, not when I polish. Polishing is the only way I've found to get rid of the streaks.

Did you wash with Dawn after using the Scratch X??? You would need to do that to remove the residue from the lubricant in the Scratch X. If there was any residue left on, the Zaino polish wouldn't be able to stick in those places. Then when you wash the car, the Zaino over the "residue" is simply washing away. leaving the streaks.

Kevin's diagnosis sounds like it makes alot of sense!

I was wondering about the qty of Z2 you are using. With a zfx bottle less then 50% filled with Z2, I can apply 2 layers. Are you putting 75% of a zfx bottle on your car for one layer? I'm not saying you are applying too much- I could be applying too little. But since we are building up multiple layers, I thought it best to error on using too little.

****!!!!!!! I didnt wash with dawn after the scratch X. Next time I wash the car, how should I do it? Wash with dawn, apply Zaino and be done with it? This should solve my problems right.

F*CKING FURIOUS!

yea i use 75% of the bottle. I do the door jambs, tail lights, under the hood, inside of trunk etc..with left over zaino

I just thought of something. When the car gets wet, the water beads. So the polish is sticking unti I use the armor all car wash you're saying? I'm going to try to dawn the car next time I wash. Do you think Armor All car wash is removing the polish?

I still don't see where you have mentioned anything about Z6. Try mixing 1/3 of the 2 ounce with 2-3 drops of ZFX. I would also suggest you stop using the Armour All Car Wash and go with Zaino Z7. Don't know the Ph factor of Armour All, but could be doing the same as Dawn.

I have some 31 layers of Z5/Z2, could not tell you how many of Z6, awaiting shipment of Z7 from Zaino and wanted to wash. Asked Dr Bonz what I might substitute for one (1) washing and he suggested don't! Wait for your shipment! Zaino products are made to work with each other.

Do you have Z6? Do you have Z7? If not, order both! Do you have a garage where you could apply Z2 (1 ounce or less in mixing bottle) without ZFX and let it sit for 10-12 hours to dry. Then buff and finish with Z6. Again, avoid mixing products!

Put the car outside in the sunlight for about an hour so the surface gets warm. The lightly re-buff. The streaks should come right out.

holy christ billr may be right. I'll try that.

I called Sal.He said he had no idea what was causing the streaks. Said it may be the towels. He also told me that Armor All, Zip, Turtle Wax car wash have detergants in them and are terrible. He said they'll never damage Zaino though. He said scratch X leaves oil and that Zaino sticks best to paint. According to him I dont have to start all over, but I may anyway.
Bill, you got mail

response to mail.
You won't wash off Zaino.
It is likely steaks caused by the Zaino feeding the paint and an uneven application.
I don't get it on my G, but used to get streaks on my CLK. The sunlight trick worked great for me.

Also try to follow up w/ Z6 (detail spray)

Zaino applied on top of something like Scratch X will get a weird reaction due to the carrier oils in the Scratch product impede Zaino making contact evenly with the surface....

I'd wash with Dawn, since the Zaino can't stick to the residue from the Scratch-X anyway, it should remove any residue left. Then apply the Zaino polish again, THIN. You should easily be able to do a complete application with 1/2 ounce of polish, that is only 1/4 of the ZFX application bottle.

Also, do yourself a favor, get the Z-7 car wash and the Z-6 detail spray.

Before applying the Z5 or Z2, apply Z6 that was suggested you order. You have it looking "great", order today, it arrives NLT Friday, maybe sooner. Wash with Z7, apply Z6 per directions, apply Z5, then Z6, then Z2 anfd finish it off with Z6. Then :-)!

Dawn will not remove Zaino. However rubbing alcohol will.

Actually dawn contains some alcohol which is why it removes Zaino. I know it removes mine...

I guess I'm going to do a fresh start guys. 7 coats down the drain
