Default Cleaning soot inside exhaust tips

What would be something good to use? It's prettymuch black in there, and could that maybe be a sign of dirty emissions?

So far i've only tried s.o.s. pads.. got discouraged after minimal results.

0000 grade steel wool.

I've done it myself, it does work, exhaust had about 15k miles on it so not too bad of shape. It gets dirty again quickly though.

DetailedImage.com is a great learning and product resource for detailing. They post specials frequently here too.

I've been using Turtle Wax chrome polish. After that it's easy to maintain it's cleanliness with every wash.
