Napa Wash Mitt Question (Pics Included)
Hi all,
I took everyone advice and purchased 2 different Wash Mits from NAPA auto parts to wash my Z with.
They had 2 different kinds, I wasn't sure which one to get so I bought both.......
Below are some pics...
The first is called: SPUN GOLD WASH MIT made of LORENE-DYNEL BLEND...............The material is gold colored and looks like a very very fine wool like substance.
The second one is called SNOW WHITE WASH MIT made of 100% COTTON........and it looks like strands of cotton towels (resembles terry cloth, but no fuzzy stuff).
Check out the below pics...........
Which one is the BEST one to use on the Z and the safest to PREVENT any swirls..........I HATE swirls !!!!!!!!!
PLEASE see PICS BELOW of BOTH MITS:
Thanks in advance,
Ant

Not the white one. Use the "wool" one.
In my experience, the "spun gold" doesn't last too long. Next time, see if you can find the Emgee/Cleantools mitt. It's MUCH "poofier" and lasts almost forever.
Here's a photo of the Emgee mitt (left) vs. the standard "spun gold" mitt (right) after a few months of use:
I've never seen the Emgee mitt at a local retailer, but it must be out there somewhere. Here's a place to get it online: Wash Mitt

Thanks all for the replys!!!!

LOL! Gotta love the internet! Everyone has their own opinion, and it's about trusting what you use. If the Kevin's say the cotton mitt is OK, I say go for it. Some people say wool is the only thing to use on your car, some cotton, some microfiber, etc. Can we all agree that technique is probably the biggest factor? I mean, use a good soap, don't scrub, be gentle, etc and you'll probably come out just fine, especially if you have a good layer of wax or Zaino on top. Just be sure to keep the mitt VERY wet, free of dirt (rinse off regularly), and have lots of suds on it at all times.
BUT, once your mitt loses its pile, get another one, or your dirt won't have the chance to get absorbed.
