Default Scratches into Primer

I've searched the forum and did not find an answer to my problem. I have some scratches on the hatch that looks like a cat scrambled to stay on the car. They are short, thin and I can see white at the bottom.

Does anyone know of a repair solution?

If it's to the primer, you can't polish it out. It will need to be repainted/touched up.

I have repaired 100's of cat marks and I never saw a car strong enough to strip paint down to the primer, what you are seeing is just marred clear coat, you should easily be able to fix it with a mild polishing compound like 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009 available at NAPA>

Agree with Kevin, but find the cat and use it to vigorously buff......

Argh, damn cats! I WATCHED one try to jump on my freshly Zaino'd hood once, only to have him slide off and try to dig in with his claws, before I ran over and swiped at him with my foot! Left a bunch of fine scratches on the bumper.

I was able to buff all of the scratches out completely with a little Meguiar's Scratch-X and some elbow grease. Give it a try.

Thank you for the suggestions. I especially like

but find the cat and use it to vigorously buff
but my wife wouldn't go for it.
