tropical storm debby
well we got hit with 5 days of rain and feet of water. Sun was gone for all 5 days. On the 4th day i went to my car and noticed these spots. I tried to wipe it off to no avail. Nobody else in the parking lot has this on their paint yet its all over mine. What caused this? winds were heavy and i live right next to a saltwater canal but as i said it was raining on and off for 5 days with no sun. thoughts? anyone experience this?
I last waxed the car about 4 months ago
its a 2004

It looks like the clearcoat is separating from the paint in those areas. Tough luck. Debby was a b*tch, I was less than a quarter-mile from the tornado that ripped through pass-a-grille. I actually drove there to borrow a spot in a garage because I knew what was coming.
i was kinda thinking something throw at it but i have no enemies that i know of. its on all sides of the vehicle and no other surrounding cars have anything like this.
Seperating the clearcoat from paint... hmmm but why would it all start in a 2 day time spam? Yup Pass a Grille got hit pretty good. Same time last year tornado hit my job in clearwater/st pete airport and tree dented me up. im having great luck with the exterior on this thing.........

try "clay bar" works wonders on cars/bikes/etc. I had water spots, and some sapp where i parked under a tree that would not come off, i tried everything... used this stuff and it came right off
this is what debby did to my hood. I live four houses off bayshore, and we saw a lot of flooding and kids from the projects coming to the water to swim. I woke up to find my car this close to the flooding, then walked down to take some pics. some pics are early before the water got really high and some are from its peak height.

Notice the fire hydrant

Same hydrant

little did those kids know that my dog $hit in the watter

Here is a video of my dog running around in it to give you an idea of depth

I'm in Largo, and there was only very minor flooding around here, nothing like on Bayshore ^^ those spots are wild though, not sure what could've caused that. My car's been sitting for two weeks due to my hernia surgery, and I've got some water spots but they came right off with a quick wash today.
The only reason I guessed that it was the clearcoat separating is because I was looking to buy an interlagos fire Z and it had the spots that were sort of "ghosted" on the paint. When I got them wet they almost disappeard then came right back. (Due to the change in refractive index between the layers) Does your's do that?
Dayum i didnt drive around downtown. Glad Debby turned and didnt come back to Tampa as some forecasted. I need to make friends with you for sure for Gasparilla! Love how the dog is like a Honey Badger "Doesnt give a ****".
Im clueless on the spots also. thinking maybe i drove through some chemicals and thats the cause of it?

Gasparilla is a lot of fun. When summer comes around and the girls start wearing less and less you will not question why we live here not to mention fishing, going to the beach, and $hit like that. Don't feel bad Look up pictures of what Bayshore looks like 99% of the time and research gasparilla pirate fest.
