is it safe to apply wax to the outside door handles?
If you want to bring the shine up on the door handles, just use a decent metal cleaner. It should last for months. One I've used for a long time is the Turbo Wax Metal cleaner. And it really brings the handles and of course exhaust etc up beautifully.
You only need a very small blob per area you do and a bottle will last for ages, even when you detail multiple vehicles as I do.
