Question How do I clean/remove my rusty muffler?? See Pic!

Check out the attached photo, which shows the rust/oxidation thats starting to form on the right top corner.

I am aware that this is normal from driving the car, but there have got to be products out there that can help restore my muffler back to its original condition.

I tried to scratch at it using my finger nails and a small circular piece on the black area of the muffler came off (shown in picture).

I went to my local Auto Zone and the gentlemen at the counter recommended using "Blue Magics Metal Polish Cream". After purchasing this I went straight home to test it out; applying a small amount onto a microfiber towel using a circular motion. Sure enough 10min later the muffler looked the same and had little to no effect...

Any metal polish followed up by glass cleaner (sounds weird I know but it works) will clean that up.

For the metal polish, I personally use this:

i like to use mother's metal polish. i haven't worked on this specifically though
