it depends how abrasive a polish we're talking about TCL. Surely you wouldn't want to go and use a heavy grit compound on your car's paint with any sort of frequency. I'd even go so far as to say you shouldn't use a fine grit compound on your car regularly. But most imperfections and surface marring can be taken care of with less abrasive polishes. In order to truely remove any swirl marks or surface scratches, some of the car's clearcoat MUST be broken down. It's as simple as that! Short of that, you'll forever have those swirl marks in your clearcoat.
Cars come with plenty of clearcoat from the factory that a swirl mark removal polishing every 4 or 5 months or so isn't going to eat away all the clear coat. Obviously some auto makers paint jobs are better than others, and those will stand up that much longer to repeated polishing. My friend who owns an auto body shop tells me it shouldn't really be of much concern to the average hobby detailer.

Your car looks very nice but I must add that your reflection shot with the lights seems somewhat fuzzy. Look at this pic I took on my roof. The flags are chrystal clear. You all know what I use.
Please do check back in a month. I would be interested in the durability of this product as I have heard a lot about it. Don't stop at a month though. In the Guru Report shootout, they carried it out to 8 weeks and Zaino was head and shoulders above the rest at this stage.

It is really a lot different than Zaino, it is just like Meguiar's #20 with a different smell.
If the image looks a little blurry, don't blame the NXT, blame the photographer
I didn't use a flash, so the shutter had to stay open a bit longer - thus some blur. I didnt use a tripod.
This weekend, I parked my car and about 5 seagulls decided to use my car as target practice. I drove and got lunch, went to the bathroom, soaked a bunch of napkins (soft white ones from the table, not the brown papertowels in the bathroom), went out and set them on the droppings
1 minute later I softly wiped it off. Not a mark, not one bit of etch, and it was effortless. Didn't even have to rub.

I don't know what HURL is (unless you want me to vomit them out there!).
I did one of my Zaino editorials over at Frenzy on the Guru Reports and the guys who wrote it asked me to remove the results since it violated their copyright and would hinder sales of their report.
Here is a link to my editorial:

If you would like to know where a particular product ended up, let me know. I suppose as long as I don't write out the entire list of them it would be OK.

Bonz... I have to admit as a Blackfire fan... that Zaino photo shot of your Z is a winner.
I am really curious that if the NXT were good.. how would an application of that on top of Zaino or Blackfire look ? Not certain if it is good to mix different products (although the polymer base is the same) -- but interesting.
My standard Blackfired Z shot....

The detailers on the Autopia forum are always trying combinations of products. One of the most popular seems to be using Klasse AIO (All-in-one cleaner/acrylic) as a base and adding a layer of polymer sealant or wax on top of it. I plan to use AIO as a first step on my daily drivers since it will save me one step in the process (AIO will clean and lay down one layer in a single step. Step 2 will be a second layer of a polymer). I'm looking to save time with the daily drivers since I've got 3 of those in the family to maintain.

Agree... that it makes sense applying NXT over Blackfire or Zaino ... no sense wasting all those hours of previous application.

I know what a URL is but I didn't know about the HURL!
There is no link to the Guru Report results from them. There is one to order their magazine but they won't publish the results for free.
Like I said, if you are really interested in a product I can give you its rank if you want. Remember, this test was done in 2001-02 so any new ones won't be on it.
Let's just say that I, for one, am VERY pleased with MY choice of polymer sealant!

Might I say that your comments on experimentation into different worlds of polymers... have shades.... that the Zainoists are ---
"nattering nabobs of negativism" comprised of an "effete corps of impudent snobs" .. ???

Interesting quotes, I hadn't heard them for many years. (Where did you dig up that pic of Spiro?) The only problem is that none of the words apply to Zaino enthusiasts!

No worries... A PC is a detailing tool that NOBODY should be without. It works wonders, whether is be for swirl removal, or simple wax application. Cuts down on time, and increases effectiveness.
