Default Rain right after wash..

Hi everyone

Would like to know if the following is OK:

1 You take your baby for a nice hand wash and it comes out sparkling.

2 You go somewhere, park it, and it rains on it big time.

3 You drive it home and dry off the rain and it is again sparkling.

What I am afraid of are small sand or whatever particles sticking to the car on the way home, then being dragged on the paint in the drying process. Is this a no no or it could be done in some cases with some precautions.

Thanks,

MoZi

Its a huge NO NO, if the car has been driven in the rain do not rub the paint just to dry it off, you will need to completely re-wash it by hand, there are 1,000's of small sand and dirt particles on the paint and you would just be grinding those into the paint when you are drying it.

Unhappy Damn....

Thanks Kevin for the feedback. Too late.... my stupid mistake. Washed it and it was spanking new. It rained and I went home. I thought it is just water so I dried my baby in the garage. Then, I had this hunch and I posted the question. Woke up this morning and inspected the paint. On 90% of the body I could not see anything, but I saw minuscule scratches on some parts, which I am not sure are the result of my stupid action (probably).

Then again, I learned and this whole experience made me 100 times more careful about thinking through every step in detailing my baby.

I wanted to wax my car in the next couple of days. The waxing should take care of this, right?

might, depends what wax and how deep the scratches are.

wouldnt feel too bad though, I bet 90% of those scratches were already there.

Thanks... The car has been out around 5 months now. I took an apt. for a light polish and wax. We don't have many products here but the guy works on Ferraris, Porsches and high end cars and he is reputed well. I think this should do and maybe I'll order some kit from the US.

About LED. I learned you sell them. I purchased clear side reflectors from courtesy, but I would like to install a bulb under them. Is there a way I can do that without taking off the bumper etc etc....

Thanks,

MoZi
