Default Big Mistake ... I used Vinylex :(

I know that ArmorAll is a big no-no to use on the interior, but I figured the Vinylex would be okay (since its not as greasy). All the interior trim panels look fine with it on except the door panels. It left splotches on those panels that are quite noticeable (to me at least). I tried using soapy water to remove it, but the spotches are still there.

Does anybody have a recommendation as how to fix my mistake, short of buying new door panels?

BTW I plan on buying 303 and using it next time.

Thanks for your help.

Even 303 leaves small splotches in certain lighting (at least for me). Its almost impossible to get the door panels looking perfect unless you only use soapy water, but that only cleans, does nothing to protect from UV damage. The dimples in the doorpanels are a motherfker.

Dont write off the Vinylex just yet, try to apply it as evenly as possible and wipe off with a nice dry rag. Give it a day or so and see how it looks.

Good luck!

I agree that the 303 Aerospace Protectant is the best for this but it does indeed leave slight splotches that are visible in the sunlight. Make sure you don't spray it (or anything) onto the door panels. Just really saturate your towel and wipe it on. This has given me the best results.

I use vinylex on my door panels with good results. The way I do it, is to use a terrycloth wax applicator, and soak it pretty good with the vinylex. use that to rub it on the door panels. If you get a good coat on everywhere, its not blotchy. The blotchiness is from uneven coverage. Once you've got it good, buff the excess off and it should look great.

Let the 303 or Vinylex sit for up to 20 minutes, then go back and rub down with a clean, absorbent microfiber. It SHOULD even out the blotchiness.
