Zaino Clay Bar
I just Clayed my Z and I am not sure I did it right. I think I may have used too much lubrication because it seems like NOTHING at all come off the car and onto the clay. The clay is as clean as it was when I started and I really didn't feel like anything was coming off the car's paint. I was expecting some friction but claying was easy, I'm thinking it was too easy? Then again I never did this before so maybe it was suppossed to be this easy???
I had the same concerns, the clay bar was basically as clean as when I had started, and my Z felt no different. I think this is because the car is still basically new and really doesn't have that much stuff stuck to the paint. If we clayed an older car, I'd bet there would be a bigger difference.
good practice though.

It's hard to notice a difference in a brand new car. If you can notice a visual difference, then you have done yor part. You shouldn't feel it coming off, you may be able to hear it thought. Also, was this done on a clean car? I mean no polish on it at all?
If you just in general clay the car, then you will probably see little to no effect on the clay, or the car. I used the ABC system instead of claying the entire car. What the ABC did is get the car sparkling
clean. But what was then revealed was what the ABC could not remove - tiny paint specs, about 20 gray ones
scattered on the hood, roof and front fenders. I then broke out the clay bar, focusing on each individual spot. Some came off easily, others required signifigant effort. The paint specs came off, but I detected hardly any effects on the pieces of clay bar that I used. One thing to remember is to use plenty of lube, go lightly, and and use as many repetitive light motions as needed. To much pressure or to little lube and you can scrath the paint.
