Mid-week Wheel Dusting Tip - Keep 'em Shinny
I have been using those Swiffer Dusters on my wheels and they work great. These things grab and hold break dust like crazy. I'm not using them on a water spotted rims that have gotten wet but mid-week to get rid of the brake dust. Takes less than 5 minutes and you just throw them away. I think I might use them to start a weekend wash too (get rid of the break dust while its still dry). Shine on little Z Buddies!
sorry to be ignorant, but can u show a pic? what does it look like? i usually just buy a roll of shop towels for $3. I just wipe it down and throw it away. but i'm always looking for better alternatives
The problem with shop towels is that you just push the break dust around. Break dust is very abrasive so you are simply making yourself a sanding pad. The Swiffer Duster actually traps the brake dust. I use to use towels myself on the stock rims, and this is so much easier. Sorry I don't have pics.
DJK I was worried about scratching since I have chrome, but so far so good. I'm pretty **** and clean my Z every week. But someone who lets a lot of brake dust accumulate before trying this might very well get scratches. I DO NOT SCRUB WITH THESE THINGS JUST DUST.

Upon reading this tip, I gave it a try. Definately works...Great tip!! If only the handles were a bit more solid...

My wheels are a matte finish, so I have no choice but to use a degreeser ( Simple Green or other ) to clean my wheels. I have to spray it on and scrub the entire wheel, rinse, and repeat to get them compleatly clean.
Good thing I am a freak about keeping it clean, I do this a couple times between washes which are once a week.
Any tips for matte finish wheels ?
