Scratch Removal Product?
Hey guys,
I tried doing a search for this but the search feature wasn't working.
I have a few light scratches on the drivers side and by the trunk release in the back.
I have been using Zaino but never have used their scratch removal product. If I use a non-Zaino scratch remover over the Zaino, will the universe implode?
Any recommendations would help.
Thanks, Richard

Note, Zaino Z-5 is not a "remover" , it is a swirl filler, does not remove anything and does not remove paint.... Products like Scratch X and 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009 have abrasives in them that remove small amounts of clear coat and/or round off the corners or a scratch or create smaller scratches that the eye can not see to hide the larger one.
Anytime you use an abrasive on top of a durable wax or polish like Zaino or any other, the abrasive product will remove the protective film that was on the surface.

I've used Meguiar's Scratch X. Works pretty good on light scratches. I'm not sure how it will affect the Zaino though.

Thanks!
On my old IS300 I would use Meguiars Premium Paint Cleaner, then Scratch X then High Tech Glaze. Finish with any wax. The key thing is those products are all paintable therefore should not react with other brands adversely. Yes this make for a perfect shine.
Scratch X is great because its easy to apply and remove.

They should rename the product "Magic Stick!"... Meguiars Scratch X ... had a big line from the dealer (didn't notice it till I got home - was a bit goofy when i got the car... )
anyways, wiped it on, buffed it off... and voila... i was struggling to see where it was ... A+++ (ebay-style) .. lol ...

OK guys,
Got off my lazy butt tonight and washed my car and tried the Scratch X. Good thing about it is that it is cheap and readily available.
Worked really well on the finer scratches I had, but there are two left right by my drivers door handle. They weren't really deep because I could not feel them when I ran my fingers over.
I plan on applying it again tomorrow while it is still light outside. If it does not work I will try and find some of the 3M product,
Thanks for the tips.
