Question Question about tire dressings

I would like to know what to use for a tire dressing. I'm stuck between to camps.

1. The shinny show car look. I love the look of a shiny tire dressing. But i have heard this is bad. Why? I'm interested in buying some Eimann Fabrik Black Opal Professional Gloss Dressing, from Properautocare.com .

2. The "natural" look. This is what most people use. Why is this better for the tires than the shiny? What brands are good?

thanks,
dan

I think the difference is that shiny = silicone = bad for your paint. If you find a product that gives good gloss without silicones, I don't think there is any problem.

The problem is that a shinny dressing usually contains silicon oils in it, which is very bad for the tires and the paint. If you like shiny, two applications of Vinylex will look prett shiny, but if you insist on that really wet look, go with the Black Opal. I have foudn that look to be very distracting over time, but hey to eash his own.

I personally love the "endurance" stuff that comes in a paste and lasts through car washes and rain etc. If you want to know what the brand is, ask me and Ill get my lazy *** off the couch and go look...

Endurance is made by Meguiars. Personaly don't like it (too gooey and slingy) but thats just my opinion.

My favorite is 303 Aerospace Protectant. Just enough luster for the tires, but ubdues enough for theinterior.
