Cleaning the engine bay?

Whats the best way to clean the engine bay? I am affraid to hose it down

no reason to be afraid hose away...try some "Greased Lightning" spray on and hose off...use on a cool engine and I don't think there'll be any major probs!

i can hose down the whole engine without having to cover anything?

yup...greased lightning automotive smells like oranges...nice stuff...
