CA Water Blade Chatter??
I used my Ca Water Blade for the first time this weekend and got better results than using a MF towel alone. I didn't work as well as expected though.
When trying to squegee the water off in most places I got really bad chatter, I was expecting a nice smooth action.
Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong?
I have a couple of coats of Meguiar's NXT wax on the car and some NXT booster wax apps on it also.
Any suggestions or info would be appreciated,
Thanks,
LouieIV

Before i got mine, I read an article on it from a car detailing website. The reviewer said it was tricky to get used to, but after he used it a few times, you get the feel for how to use it better, and it becomes easier to use. I say keep practicing, and use it about a dozen times....if you don't like it after that, just throw it up on ebay.
it chatters because it goes over dry areas..if you put more pressure on those same areas you will get a squeek instead of a chatter
its a great product...i go over the car once with the blade but not with the intention of fully drying it cause then i just use the towel to finish up the remaining small spots of water and also get all the hard to reach spots and the spots where water likes to get stuck

Remember to keep drying the blade with a MF towel. If you don't, you'll be searching the threads to find out the best way to get rid of the 3' scratch you put in your car. BTW- I love my blade. And to save you the search......Scratch X does the job.
Thanks for all the info. It sounds like the chatter is normal, except maybe if you use Zaino. I will continue to use it carefully cause it definatley works better than a towel.

I've got plenty of zaino on my car. I get the chatter. It's due to uneven pressure i believe since I only get it on my roof because I'm always outstretched getting the middle part.
Your running light plastic/rubber over metal, your going to get the chatter. It's perfectly normal, especially on the dry areas. As for wiping your blade with a MF towel, it's not needed if you washed your car well enough. I just whip the blade in the air a second to shake the water off. Been using it for a year.. Well, until I ran the blade over with my other car last week
use your blade lightly over the car...dont try and dry the car ONLY with the blade..if there is a small spot of water just use the drying towel that you should have on your right shoulder
i also use the blade and it works really well. i mainly use it for the top of the car, and the windsheild, and rear glass. it does an amazing job and those. i get almost no chatter, but i have used it many times.
