I use a duster on my black car but only after I put 6 coats of Zaino on it. As long as you use it every day so there is very little dust it seems to work fine. I tested it several times in the direct sun so I could see scratches. It will scratch if you push down with any force.

I have a large amount of small scratches on the top and back sill of my doors but the rest of the car is fine. I'm thinking someone wiped down the door sills at the dealer with a rough cloth after people were touching it. Fingerprints are a pain in the butt. I live in Oregon and we can't pump our own gas. So I have about 5 new greasy finger stains on my gas lid after every fillup.

isn't the duster impregnated with some silicone? doesn't that mean it isn't really a "dry" surface?

what would you guys suggest before using the duster (some water or detailing spray)?
