Default Zaino not working very well

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but after applying about 4 coats of Zaino using ZFX and the instructions from them (clay bar'ing the car and everything else) I've found that after a week outside when I wash the car it feels like the surface is not smooth anymore. I remember when I waxed my car with Zymol or Meguiars even after a week or so the car would be super smooth but if I just relied on Zaino the surface would get rougher a lot quicker than with wax... I guess that Zaino isn't as protective as wax, just a lot shinier.

In another thread SPF4000 said how Zaino made the surface of his car feel smoother than wax even 2 weeks after application. I've found the opposite results, that wax is much better at keeping contaminants from bonding to the surface than Zaino...
And YES, I have been applying it correctly, in small amounts, letting it dry, and using the spray in between and afterwards.

Can you post your exact protocol? Maybe you are doing something wrong. How much ZFX are you using per application of Z-5 or Z-2. Did you also use the Z-1? How long are you letting it stay on the car?

All I can say is that it has been working great for me. I drove 400 miles Friday night and about 300 of that was in a driving rain. After I washed the car with the Z-7 it felt smooth as glass. In fact I put some more on last night.

Polymer sealants sometimes aren't as "buttery" feeling as waxes as they don't have as many oils and such in them.. BUT, a polymer will protect much longer than a wax, no questions asked. What you experienced is not jarring, but unusually as Zaino seems to hold its slickness fairly well. Don't need to wory about protection. If you think the finish is lacking the slicknees/depth of a wax, then simply top the Zaino with wax.

P.S. with ZFX, you shouldn't apply more than 3 coats at a time.

I used ZFX w/ Z2 ... I applied 4 coats the first time AFTER washing w/ dawn and clay barring. I also used the spray (Z-7 I think?) before and between coats. AFterwards i've used Z2 on three seperate occasions. I've let coats dry about 30 minutes all the time (in about 80 degree weather)... Yea.. what i've ended up doing is just topping off my zaino w/ a layer of Zymol wax. I have a hard time believing it (Zaino) protects the surface because contaminants seem to bond to the surface of the paint when I use Zaino, but when I use wax the surface of my car remains smooth. I really think Zaino is overrated.. Out of curiosity, what is the difference between Zaino and Klasse? I'm thinking they're the same exact thing.

Well they are both polymer sealants, so yes they are similar, but its like saying that Mothers and Meguiars are EXACTLY the same, as they are both car waxes.

So which is better? Mothers or Meguiars?
