Default Sap all over!

I was at a friends house last night for a barbeque and left my car parked under a tree (one of the few spots left at that point). When I came back out to leave I had sap all over my car. It looks like my car was sprayed lightly with a hose and the sap appears like little water droplets but when you touch it, it smears. What should I do? Will a regular car wash solve my problem?

I would wash it with soap and water and then try to get off the remaining sap with a claybar.

Unless it is pine sap, usually a simple hand wash is all you need to remove it.

If the above doesn't work, an adhesive remover like goo gone should work. Then wash with car wash, and re-wax to protect

I think I read here that margarine will take it off. Do a search for that before you try it.
