What to Use When Drying the Car?
Big Blue Towel, it's great. http://www.properautocare.com/bigbludryint.html
Much better than the chamois.

After washing I hit the road at 65MPH for about 3 minutes, this will blow most of the water off the car and out of the cracks, very little drying required.

I finally tried the leaf blower trick and it actually works. You do look slightly retarded using a leaf blower on your car in your driveway but it gets the water from all the cracks. If you have a couple good layers of wax on most of the water will roll right off. Then it takes a small towel to get the little spots left behind.
As stated above... The ABSORBER is the best thing I've ever used. It can be washed in the machine just like other towels but it's far softer and much more thirsty than a regular 100% cotton towel. I've had to same one over 4 years and it still looks and works great!

I think it's time you replace that one! You have probably forgotten how well they really work. I starting using The Absorber on my old car when it was new. In four years, I went through four or five of them (using them on two cars). After about a year, I would buy a new one, and delegate the old one to just rims. Different color each time, to remember which is for what.

At first he claimed he never thought it was loud, but his ear protection kind of gave him away. When asked why he was wearing those he responded that the noise made his ears hurt.
Anyway it turns out his wife was angry at him about it as well, along with all the other neighbors. His blower was one of those with a very high pitched engine.
He never did it again after being confronted with this and actually sold and moved out of the neighborhood over the whole thing. He was really a jerk about it so no one cared, though we felt sorry for his wife.
I used the Absorber before switching to the Big Blue drying towel... Definitely the best.

In one picture, the towel looks white, but it really is blue.

The Viper microfiber towels and applicators are very good, but you might want to avoid the glass towels... They left a lot of lint. I think the detailing ones are better (and cheaper).
