Meguiars NXT Longevity, WTF?
Okay so I have had this product three months and have put 5 coats on my 2002 Maxima.
I used Meguiars Gold Glass before and the smooth feel would last months.
I switched to NXT ( I used dawn to rid the Gold Class) and this stuff only lasts about 2 weeks. WTF? My wife put about 50 miles in two weeks, and I get home from New Mexico and it is not smooth again. I applied a coat right before I left.
What is the deal here? Why does this stuff last only about 2 weeks.
I am seriously thinking of dumping this crap and going to Zaino.
My Z has never lost its smoothness. Hmmmm.
Any suggestions? BTW, the paint is clean, I used a claybar and nothing was picked up on it.

odd, I've been doing a longetivity test on my girls accord since everyone was so concerned about it, i'm at 6 weeks and the car still beads nicely and is pretty smooth
I redo my car every 4 weeks or so and it's still smooth when I do redo it.

Did you clay your car before applying NXT? You should prep your paint before applying NXT. Gold class has stronger cleaners in it and will be a better choice if you're looking for a one-step product.

Ive used many different brands of wax and they all lose their smoothness after a rainstorm. I wash my car once a week and apply "Wax as you dry" to keep the smoothness.

What I am trying to say is the Gold Class held its smoothness longer.

Get a clay magic clay bar and use the glove that comes with it to feel your paint for smoothness and tell me it is smooth. What you can't feel with your bare hand you can feel with the glove use the cellophane wrapping from a pack of cigs I bet that paint is rough.
Trust me.

Its not a claybar issue here. This stuff does not hold for very long compared to Gold Class.
However, it does goes on and off easy and takes less time than Zaino.

I'm glad you mentioned it. I just told my wife a couple of days ago that my car feels like it was waxed six months ago when it's only been a couple of weeks. I agree that it goes on and comes off easy enough, but I also agree that it does not seem to last long. I live in Florida and I know the water where I live has a lot of minerals (white spots if you don't dry it) in it and the sun is also opressive on paint. I wonder it that's what the problem is?

Wax WTF?
I am a detailer and I will tell you that HOT water will strip the wax. You also have a good point about the chemicals I won't use a carwash brush or any of that crap on my car, if I go to the car wash I simply soap it up and rinse I try not to make a habit of it I like the old hand wash at my house.
I am not trying to stir up tihs
