I use the DF 100% cotton towel for buffing. I have some DF microfiber as well, just don't use them as much. Great detailing towels. The DF towels are the perfect size, 14"x21" I think, and well made.

For drying, I've used Big Blue II waffle weave, Pakshak blue waffle
weave, and Griots waffle weave towels. All work well, but I use the Griot's most often.

Works best for what?

I use DF for Zaino removal and polishing. Use a waffle weave for drying. Use various other MFs for windows and interior.

Right now I use Meguiars Ultimate Towel and it works perfect. Will have to buy a DF towel to see how it does. I know that the Meguairs towels are really soft, and do well with the wax removal.

Use care when using any of these towels near the 350Z emblem (not the NISSAN burger emblem)on the rear bumper, as the Z will SNAG it, tearing out useful threads. It's going to happen, but will happen less if you are careful. Just trim of the loose threads when this occurs. Or order more towels

Good luck
