Default Forgeline 18" ZX3R wheels - need work

SOLD

Wheels purchased in current condition with hopes of restoring to new. Had them disassembled and inspected by the manufacture - Forgeline. They state that all inners/outers need replacement w/ hardware and valve stems. One forged center is damaged. The other three forged centers are fine structurally. 2x 18x9, 2x 18x10. Current offset is unknown (*edit my measurement looks like +22 for 18x9 and +24 for 18x10), they were made specifically for a 350Z w/ Brembos.

If you are or know a wheel guy - maybe you can get these rolling again for less than Forgeline quoted me. Approximately $600 for new forged center.

I'm looking to get my money back for these - $600 takes all centers, inners/outers, hardware, valvestems, shipping.

These wheels go for $941 for 18x9, $960 for 18x10 - new. Link to website - pricing. http://www.forgeline.com/products/co...zx3r&pricing=1

*edit- showing inners

SOLD

Last edited by thekinn; 08-23-2010 at 07:02 AM. Reason: remeasured offsets to get more accurate value - +24 rear, +22 front. New price $600 from $800. SOLD.

I only received a verbal quote of $200 each to replace inners and outers, plus cost of hardware, valve stems, and ~$600 for new forged center. This was from the manufacturer - Forgeline.

I haven't pursued 3rd party wheel repair shops.

I will work on getting pics on the car. I should be able to produce some pics by Friday night. A little difficult without tires - but I'll give it a go. They are pretty sweet if I remember.. it may convince me to keep them and cough up the cash to repair.

I updated the main post - the offsets (if it matters) look to be +24 for the rear and +22 for the front.

The weight is about 21lbs each. I had to use a bathroom scale, and add a pound for the screws that were mostly removed.

Sorry - I am not going to speculate/estimate on repair costs. That is completely the buyers responsibility. I will say that your number is too low though. $200 inner, $200 outer - for each wheel by Forgeline's pricing. Sorry if I wasn't clear in the first post.

I am contradicting myself by throwing out numbers here. These repair numbers are what I got verbally and if you want verify you should take it upon yourself to do so with either Forgeline or your own 3rd party wheel repair shop.

*edit - I want to help you out, I just don't want to be at fault if my numbers are off.

For what it's worth, or any celebrity status... these wheels came off of this T2 Z that wrecked at Mid-Ohio a couple years ago... (I was not driving) Goes to show the strength of the Forgeline wheels, where only one center was slightly bent..
