To Unveil Pro-Street Tire Nissan 350Z at Virginia NDRA Event


April 18, 2005 – NEW YORK – Performance Motorsport will unveil the Westbury Nissan / BorgWarner Turbo/ Nissan 350Z Pro-Street Tire car at this weekend’s Virginia NDRA event. Team Performance Motorsport has been working hard all winter to develop its engine program for the Pro-RWD and Pro-Street Tire 350Zs. Thrashing for weeks to get both cars ready for competition, Gary Rubio Says “Missing the first two NDRA events has not deterred the crew. We wanted to make sure the program was up to the challenge and would represent the very best we have to offer.” The Pro-Street Tire 350Z finished the 2004 season with an impressive descent down the ET ladder, with an 8.9, 8.6, 8.5, 8.4, and #1 qualifying 8.33 ET’s through the last two events before the season ended. “We look forward to facing off this weekend against seasoned competitors and picking right up where we left off, only a little faster, and a little quicker,” states crew chief Vinny Ten. Driver Andrew Rubio adds, “The Performance Motorsport Pro-Street Tire Nissan 350Z has had a major overhaul, including a new engine, turbos from sponsors BorgWarner and Innovative Turbo, a custom Pro-Torque converter, headers from Cooks and so much more. It’s going to be a new experience for me.”

The Westbury Nissan/ BorgWarner Turbo /Goodyear Tire Pro-Compact RWD 350Z will not campaign this weekend in order to put finishing touches to the test in the next two weeks during a closed session. Look for this new entry in the Pro-Compact division making, its season debut at the June 4-5 NDRA event in Florida.

Hey Fish,

I've checked the NDRA schedule and it looks like the April date was the only event taking place in Maryland. Are there any events happening this year where you guys will be at Budds Creek, 75-80, Cecil, or Capitol? If there are, let me know. I'd really like to come out and see this monster run in person.

 

I HIGHLY doubt it, they only go to the nicest tracks, and although Cecil imo is waayyy better than Capitol, it couldnt accomodate an event like that. We'll have to take a trip to MIR...

Well the closest you're going to be to me is Virginia Motorsports Park. On top of being 300 miles away, I'm supposed to be going to Ravens Fan day this weekend. Perhaps Bert and I'll can make the trek to Englishtown in October.
