Default What times should I expect?

This saturday I am going to run the Z for the first time, this will be my first time down the track... ever. I plan on running it with less than 1/4 tank of gas and taking out the spare. The only mods is a Injen short ram intake. I'm HOPING to eventually get a 13.9 thats all I want, lol... a freaking 13.9.. I know I won't get it first run, but ah well. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I just thought I would ask...

BTW, i'm talking quarter mile.

Lets be serious here. How the heck would any of us know what time for you to expect. Especially when we dont how good or bad of a driver you are or anything else. Go run it then tell us what ya ran 1/4 mile

I was thinking 17's, but I like your positive attitude!

Seriously, first run... if i'm in the 14's i'm happy.

Depends.. Is the car broken in? Are you a good or bad driver? Are you obese?

There`s too many factors for a bunch of strangers to tell you how you`re gonna do at the track.

high 14's your first run, low 14's by the end of the night. I weigh about the same as you and those were my results.

If your a good driver..13.80's..i ran my buddies Z..only modd is a JW pop charger..i ran a 13.6..word to the wise..dont rev before take off..do an even exchange between cluth and gas..shift at 6500..not to many people know but unless ur supercharged turbocharged or got some serious engine work..ur car wont pull past 6500 ...i weigh about 170-175..so i dont see why u could run about a 13.8..good luck

To many factors to tell, just run it and have fun. I would say though that the biggest factor that I dont know is Altitude of the venue. At sea level, I would guess you will run at best 13.8 but but prob mid 14s. If your like me and live at over 5600 ft above, the best time you could run if you are an awesome driver would be 14.8 sec. If you shift too short you will end up too low in the power band on the upshift.

I shift at 6,900, and launch at 5K rpms, feathering the clutch out quickly, for best results.

I also do a couple of quick 2-3 second burn outs, and then do a couple of little test launches before pulling up to the line. Once I get a little wheel hop as its wanting to grab, I line up.

Setting the shift light will help you upshift without hitting the limiter. I set mine for 6,900, but shift very quickly right as it hits 6,900.

Practice makes perfect.

im not sure what type of z ur driving..but the limiter is right at 6600 , unless u upgrated ur comp..which would take it alot highter ..and setting a shift light that blinks wont help either...launching at 5 thousand rpms ..is cool if u want ur car to last a few months... and feathering the clutch at 5 thousand rmps is really smart as well!! 2500 t0 tops 3000 rev with the clutch engaged riiiiiight under that catching point....then slowly feather it while flooring it !!! the best shift time is 6500 since there isnt much power being produced after 6200 rpm's !! u should be running 13's no problem!!!

hard to say, just for fun I'll say your first run will be 14.5.
