On the 350Z......
Provided that the exhaust, tires, and manifolds are the same (or as close as possible), what are the average 1/4 mile times for Turbo vs Supercharger (belt driven) vs Nitrous ??
From studying this forum it looks like:
NA = 14.0 seconds
Nitrous (100 shot) = 13.0 seconds
Belt Superchargers = 13.5 seconds
Turbo = 12.7 - 13.3 seconds
I'm sure there are exceptions, but speaking in AVERAGE comparisons what would you rank them in terms of 1/4 mile times ?

I personally am doing nitrous for my 1/4 mile times. Its ALOT more customizable for drag use as where you can make it kick in at different levels each gear so you dont spin in first and parts of 2nd. Also superchargers i feel are a waste for drag use they get horrible times. Turbo setups are really great but when using street tires you spin like mad when you launch. Also without forged internals ide say you would be better off running nitrous. Just my opinion, ide like to hear other peoples.

and I'd say turbo because it's the easiest to expand due to tuneability, followed by Nitrous

11.6??? When have you seen a turbo on stock internals run 11.6???? I doubt you've seen it run in Cali.
Realisticaly out here in Cali, the fastest stock internals turbo is 12.9.... and that was just one time.
Nitrous is easy to tune also. Changing jet sizes and adjusting AFR is not that hard. You have to remember that just because the manufacturer susgests a specific jet combo, it doesn't mean you have to follow it. You can always put the car on a dyno and adjust the nitrous jet to a larger size in comparison to the fuel jet.
Sooo my vote goes for nitrous. When done correctly, it's more cost effective and DOES give you the best bang for your buck.

here's an example

no one has said anything about California, but I'm more than sure you can hit similar runs out here.
IGOTTAZ run several 12.9's last time at Cali speedway. Based on his coming upgrades he'll do better in august and I'm sure I'll do close to 11's as well.
Alpine ran 8.1's at Irwindale which translates into 12.5 and he ran on street tires
so I'm not sure why you think you won't be able to do better than 12.9 on a stock motor....

Yeah, I've seen that post before.
However, the thread asks for "average", which unfortunately that does not represent the average Turbo Z's are running. Don't get me wrong, its a valid run that anyone would love to have, but its not average.
If anything, I would probably agree with 12.7-13.3 as average, wouldn't you agree?

and about superchargers not putting down the numbers?
try running a smaller pulley with a SC that flows CFM close to the list come with and see what happens. hell run 12-14 pound pulley if the head unit cant handle the turbine rpm see about upgrading to an s trim or somthing bigger
apples to peanuts
BTW everyone here on the bottle is in the 12s or 11s
averaging is a horrible way to judge. that takes into account all the **** pooor drivers. if you want averages you must consider yourself an average driver only capable of duplicating those times.

she hasnt bought hers yet but i want her to get a stick, so i have tried to teach her. I took her out in mine and she did great for a first timer. never stallled my car. my clutch has 50+ pounds of pedal pressure too.
after seeing the stock Zs put down **** times at the track she was like "your going to have to mod mine so it isnt so slow." the stock zs there ran a 14.7 at 98 and a 14.6 at 95. they got out and congradulated eachother on their times. My Gf laugh at them for being proud of it. She understands the relation of traps and ET and good driving or traction. Ive told her the stick is a mid high 13 second car stock with me driving depending on the car.
