Ohhh...trap speed. Looking through my time slips I think the best that I can come up with is 103.5 mph.

I ran a 13.9 @ 103 when I was stock and a 13.6 with the same trap speed after I installed the JWT clutch and flywheel.

...I only weigh about 150lbs though

I trapped 105 without the headers or pullies. I think we are spoiled here in MD, even our "bad" tracks are alot nicer then those in other states.

Some tracks are just slow. from reading all over the internet it seems that our tracks here in hawaii and your tracks in Florida are very similar. We both always run a solid 3 (plus) mph slower than everyone else..

Id suggest comparing your z to other Z's at your track....Are they running low 14's with the same mods as you? if so then theres nonthing wrong and a 60 ft with lots of practice or cheat and put on some slicks will get you that 13.xxx...

If the guys at your track are all running mid-high 13's with the same mods as you and similar 60 fts then I would defiently take Alberto's advice about the plugs.

Alberto. you have to take into consideration that the tracks you run at in Maryland are considered the fastest tracks in the USA...

These are the same tracks were C5Z06's run 11's at 117 mph bone stock..Were Camaros run 12.9's at 109 mph bone stock and C5 vettes run 12.7 at 111 mph bone stock. Eighter the best Density altitude in the US is there or the tracks slightly go down hill ( many people speculate on option too)....

Atco is NOTOROUSLY known for having people trapp 3-3 mph more than people in other parts of the country. So maybe running a 13 is easy at your track. But I know at my track here in hawaii Ive never seen a 350 Z modded or stock run a 13 at 100 plus mph.

There was a post from a 350Z owner here in hawaii who had all the mods as the OP. His best is a 14.3 at 95 mph. try telling him how a well driven 350Z can hit 13's. Just keep that in mind when you post up to people about track times. Not all of us have the house of hook mod or atco mod....Some of us have the florida..hawaii or colorado mod ..LOL

I decided to stop modding my 350z for a while and get back to a DSM. So I bought a 92 AWD to play with for a while. I did change the plugs and I also installed the motordyne spacer. I took off the UTEC. I am going to go to the track to see how it does anyway.

So right now I have..

Injen CAI
Ebay Test Pipes
Greddy Evo 2
Motordyne 5/16" spacer
Fresh NGK Iridiums

We will see how it does. I can get this car to hook so much better on the street however OSW does not like street tires. I just roast the tires at the track meanwhile on the street I can launch it 2-3k higher. I have been playing slipping the clutch very fast from 5k while giving no throttle. It tries to bog when the rpms are down around 2500 I start applying gas and it leaves pretty decent like that.

His car has trapped 102mph @ that track(on par with other Z's even here in MD), its not slow, its not at altitude. So that throws your argument for this guy out the window. And I dont even run at the "nice" track in MD, never even been to MIR

Yeah definately. I have always run my best times in any car during funday sunday. The prep it hardcore for all the big v8 cars that head out there that weekend.

We will see how it goes tonight.

Open it up man I cant breath I cant breath GASP....Seroiusly..The car ran the 102 spinning off a 2.4 60 ft. The other guys run 102 mph off normal 2.1 and 2.1 60 fts. There is a big differance. If they spin they'll to a 2.4 60 ft theyll trap 104 vrs 102.

I have read numerous other topics on boards from this site to M3's to STI's to fbody's and the tracks in florida are ALWAYS slower.

blame the driver - geo you suck

when i was tooling around with Greg's track model in charleston we took it to the 1/8th mile a bunch of times

best way i found to launch it was at like 3300-3500 rpm and just slip the clutch out almost until you feel it bog basically and go from there - i was hitting 2.0-2.1 60' times pretty consistently on toyo ra-1's on stock track model wheels, dunno, worked for me

but your mph does suck - that would have me scratching my head - i am sure you guys have a turbonetics or greddy turbo kit laying around there - slap it on and go
