Default bolt-on Z 13.6@102 on 19s...

Finally popped the cherry on this car and took it to the track, it was unbelievable at HRP, I only got 3 runs in. I’ve been hesitant to go on the 19s and was hoping I’d have a pair of slicks by now but I’ve also got a fresh set of tires out back, Toyos T1Rs 275/35s

First run…

60’ – 2.108
330 – 5.937
1/8 – 9.054
Mph – 79.90
1000 – 11.731
Ό - 13.985
Mph – 98.37

Not bad for my first time but was hoping for a little more mph.

60’ was not too bad but got some wheel hop and for some reason short shifted the 1-2 shift. Left at about ~2500 rpm

Second run, decided I’ll leave at about 3000rpm, bad idea…

60’ – 2.214
330 – 6.447
1/8 – 9.629
Mph – 78.84
1000 – 12.31
Ό - 14.568
Mph – 98.24

Spun real bad, wheel hopped like crazy, hit rev limiter, totally botched run, but again hit 98mph.

On my third and final run I pulled out all the stops, popped the hood and pushed it through the staging lanes, LOL hoping that cooling off the engine would help as I was concerned with the mph.

Left again at around ~2500

60’ - 2.064
330 – 5.822
1/8 - 8.866
mph - 81.87
1000 - 11.477
Ό - 13.676
Mph - 102.49

ooh nice 60 even with the wheel hop. Made sure I shifted at redline on all shifts but I also feel I could use a few more rpms up top, was hoping I could hit 103-104

All in all I was pretty happy with the times I think I can get a little better if I could control the wheel hop and possibly raise the rev limiter. I feel I can squeeze out at 1.9x 60’ with more practice.

There was one other Z there from the forums (sorry bro forgot your name) and an older maxima with the VQ35 swap.

13.6 with the bolt ons that you have... OUCH. there are stock Zs on these boards going 13.6s - 13.7s.. 60 foot was not that bad.. 19's might have hurt you a bit, I'm sure you will do better.. Get some more track time and keep us updated!

Raceweight was about 3275 lbs, Even with the 19s I think I can knock it down a few tenths with more seat time and less weight (less gas and no spare/jack) so far I've done a whopping 3 runs.

With slicks I'd image I can improve even further.

damn i got some weight to loose then... i weighed in at 3350 with me in it... so about 3200 without me.. with slicks you will def go faster that comes with traction and putting the power to the ground

Oh well let's rain on his pride.

13.6 on 19" wheels actually is quite an accomplishment. He could have done even better with stock wheels and potenzas.

I think those are good times for his mods..Theres alot of guys on here posting 14.2-14.4 for there best bone stock times..The 13.5-13.7 represent the best drivers in the fastest factory cars at the best tracks...So why compare him to them????

a 13.6 is 6 TENTHS faster than a lot of the stock guys do and probaly on par with some of the stock Fbodys at his track..dang good time IMHO.

First off he's not stock he has a crank pulley, pop charger, Plenum, gutted cats, and a true dual exhaust... So with that being said, I'm not bashing I'm simply stating there is room for improvement. Like I said before incase you weren't paying full attention.. STOCK 287 Zs are going 13.6- 13-8 with NO mods. I myself have an 06 which weighs close to 3,350. I have few bolt ons, but have not yet made a pass at the track. I will let you know though when I do.

well I suggest you do so first, before bashing. Maybe you didn't mean to be bashing, but it sounded like you were. So no excuses, go run a low 13, then come back and talk smack. Since stock Zs run 13.6-13.8s with no mods, you should run close to 13 flat right? Especially with that sig.

13.6 is very respectable with those mods, some people don't like beating on their cars as some others.

We'll see if that dyno plot holds its weight on the track. I think you'll do fine OSix, do us a favor though...go on street tires first and see what you can do....

I wanted to race you at AAM but you said roll only because you couldn't hook...so try some street tires first and get used to that before getting DR's or slicks, if we were gonna roll race we shoulda just compared dyno sheets lol

you too kid.. dont come on here and talk Shi t like I wouldnt race you... Why didnt you just say "ok". I would have rolled in first, I admitted I couldnt hook.. Are you saying you would have lost to me from a roll? Seriously don't put some false image of me out there like I was scared or some sh it. It's really pretty simple, I couldnt get traction and you could. Why wouldnt you just roll with me? Thats annoying man.
