Default 12.549 @ 114.16

First time out on drag radials last week, it was about 60 degrees and at 2200' altitude here in Las Vegas.
They didn't treat the track with VHT as the night went on, so I got progressively less traction.
Best time:
r/t....... .522
60'....... 2.051
330...... 5.465
1/8...... 8.215
MPH..... 88.83
1000.... 10.565
1/4...... 12.549
MPH..... 114.16

I was riding on BFG DR's 275/35/18 at 21 psi... hope to get my 60' into the 1.9's, any suggestions? I was doing a small burnout, but never got smoke. One run, I went around the water and just gunned it to clean off the tires before staging. Still got a 2.0xx 60'. Best 60' of the night was 2.016. I think it was the track's fault for the lost traction. I was launching at 4k rpm, feathering the clutch and keeping the RPMs from bogging.

edit: woo-hoo 350 posts!!!

heat those tires up more, you should easily pull 1.8s with those DRs. the trap is pretty good, not sure what psi you are running at or what hp level you are at... you picked up 25 and a little on the last 1/8th thats really good.

you should be able to run high 11s with your setup right now

Not bad I think you can pull 1.7 60ft times with those tires. Are you pulling the brake fuse for burnouts? BTW how much whp do you have and at how much boost?

are you sure it drops off, or are you feeling yourself go past torque which is most likely what you are experiencing... the hp couldnt actually fall off unless something was wrong

You need to run less psi in those tires not by much but start around 18 next time unless its really cold out. Use the fuse trick and get em smokey. Launch at about 3500-5000 depending on your technique and you'll get a 1.x but be ready for 2nd cuz it comes fast. I've got to go to the alberto school of shifting so I can get my damn 11 sec timeslip. I've run 1.73 or so and i miss/ can't get into 3rd everytime i get a good hook like that.

looks good, gotta drive down to lower elevation and run, those times could all be goofey cuz of the high elevation.

yea, no sticky goo on the track makes crappy 60 foot times.

you gotta remember the fact that a bad 60 foot time will not only add time to the rest of your time-points, but also affects the momentum factor. So lets say you got a 2.XX 60 foot time, and you should be getting a 1.7X, that .3 secs isnt all that is lost on your 1/4 mile time, you also lose a lot of momentum, so its more like .4-.5 or even more!

generally speaking for every .1 sec you take off ur 60 foot, its about .2 sec in the quarter.
ya, go alberto. 11.9 @114 is kick a**!

Just work more on launching I'd say. I've seen low 1.7s pulled on those tires in a TT 350z at 32psi in the tires and no burnout whatsoever. Dropping the pressure and doing a burnout will help you get better times if you are smoking the tires, but if you are bogging or not breaking traction significantly it's not going to help you at all, unless you decide to launch it harder than you currently are.
