I like overall st and strip the mickey drag radial. That is what we run on our race car. It needs a good burn out. Not to much or they get to hot and become slick. We usually do about 3 or 4 second burnout and let it roll out. We are always in the 1.29 or 1.30 60ft everytime. Also on alot of 350hp to 500hp cars 1.5 and 1.49's are not uncommon. just my.02

Dont forget that a larger overall diameter will give you a larger sidewall, thus allowing more sidewall flex, thus allowing you to grip better. It will also give you a slightly larger footprint.
And I've heard nothing but good things about the M/T DR's. I cant recall if it was Hot Rod or Car Craft who tested them, but they actually hooked better than the ET Street's they were previously using on the vehicle.

MT Street Radials, I have many-a-LS1 friend who swear by them. Most guys with over 400whp in my club use em'. They won't give you that "floaty" feeling at the track, which is the #1 thing people appreciate besides the gobs of traction on the street and at the track.

I'd go with a DR over a bias ply slick any day of the week.
I broke an axle running a bias ply ET Street, and I haven't broken an axle running my BFG DRs.
Furthermore I've pulled better 60's with the DRs than the ET streets.
Bias ply tires are old news. The new DRs (BFG, MT) have taken plenty of cars WELL into the single digit E.Ts, so I really see no reason why anyone would buy a bias ply drag tire anymore. Not to mention how much more livable they are.
I'll be selling my ET streets soon for a set of ET street RADIALS for my 15in weld drag wheels.

i personally think a dead hooking dr is worse on a drivetrain than a dead hooking bias ply tire. here is what a 26x11.5x17 et streets do on my stocker cobras
my suspension is anything but drag friendly. eibach lowering springs, koni adjustables up front and stock replacement shocks out back. bias ply tires seem to be slightly more consistent as well. this was a 1.66/12.080 pass

Wheel lifting bastard. My car will never do that, it doesn't have enough weight transfer.

Well I have some experience on the ET Streets now. I'm not a huge fan of them. 60 times seemed to vary by almost a tenth on both occasions at the track with them, though bear in mind this IS my first time on a sticky tire in over two years, and I've got well over 2x more HP than I've ever tried to launch on a sticky tire as well. They seemed inconsistent on the burnout too, sometimes I could burn them down while sitting in place, and other times I couldn't stay in place at all and they immediately dragged me forward. Pulled a best of 1.90 (twice) on them, no suspension mods except some weak lowering springs, front wheel drive. Didn't feel floaty on the big end of the track though which was rather suprising, even at 10.5psi hot, at 120+ through the traps. 12.18 @ 120.3 with the 1.90 was the best pass I made on them. I'll be purchasing a set of M&Hs when my buddy decides he needs these ET Streets back that I'm borrowing from him.
