if i dont trap over 120 i will be pretty upset.

traction will be an issue off the line but i am only worried about what i can trap

were you in winter park today buying some 100 octane? i saw a black z on bronze wheels across the street from my dealership.

im guessing mid 11's in the mid to high 120s....if you drive it hard.....

im thinking about building a motor now with some nasty heads and intake to compliment my s trim

that was me, i live right down the street from there.

this was all done at 48% on the profec B, this equates to 13.4 psi and hit a high boost of 13.5

ok here is the quick story, i knew traction would be an issue. i figured i would take first and second gear in low boost then hit high boost for the rest.... WRONG, didnt really work that way cause the boost controller did some weird switchover thing when i tried that. first run spinning like crazy, let off in 3rd gear about 2 times, let off in 4th, i was like WTF, maybe i didnt do a good enough burnout, 2.2 60' and ran 13.0 @117.1 taking it easy.

second run i noticed a lot of lag between gears, i figured i would speed shift. took off and pulled a 2.0 and ran 12.4 @ 118. well the clutch didnt like the speed shifting and bogged every shift, slipped the clutch and then it finally would go...

third run was spinning really really bad and i let off, didnt even try, still trapped 118 though just floorin it in 4th and 5th.

4th run i ran 12.4 again @ 118.5 , i think this is very weak. it is much faster, i dont care about the time, just the trap.

i know the problem, i just have only had the car running right for a week. i still have on the single tanabe... haha, i just havent sat down and figured out what exhaust i want to get. i didnt think there was a lot of lag until i ran through all the gears at once.

car sits there for over a sec then runs like CRAZY, then i shift and it sits there, then hauls ***, then shift, lag lag lag then hauls ***.

i spent more time in turbo lag then i did running.

i need to ditch the RPS clutch, get 3 " true duals and i will be set. this was all on the soon to do list and will be here soon....

plus i need to bring my slicks damnit

EDIT, i havent even played with the profec b, i just put it in there and set the main boost gain, maybe it is a problem with that, i might have the gain for the lag turned up too much, i will figure that out tomorrow!!

ok so looking at the profec b, i have my boost setting where i like it, thats the peak boost, then i have the gain at 25% and the start boost at 70. i will play with these numbers tomorrow but if anyone can explain how the start boost works and controls what, well that would be a great help...

well, well. my 12.7 wasn't to far off.

i knew it'd take you at least 3 visits to the track to get under 12 seconds.

we'll see how you do in the next few weeks

normally drag racing is drag racing, but going into a turbo set up is something totally different. I had a 91 mustang gt & a 66 vette that I dragged at the same time a few years back, they ran about the same even though the vette had about 125hp over the mustang. But racing a turbo, you just about have to re-learn how to race.

I'm sure with you're expierence the learning curve will be fast!

good luck.

hopefully I'l be drag racing at rockingham in september.
I'm hoping for the low 12 seconds (12.2-12.4) we'll see.

i live off fairbanks down by I-4.

yeah turbo cars are way different, this car pulls really really hard when it in boost, but then its such a short gear, then switch gears and lots of lag, then it pulls like crazy.

i will figure it out, its hard to pedal the car all the way through 1st 2nd and 3rd gear, then floor it, every run i was trapping 91 at the 1/8th then picking up 27 on the top half, even with lots of lag through 4th and 5th shifts. overall i wish i would have trapped over 120 but i will figure out the problem soon...

exactly why predicting your time before you go to the track is foolish.

for a novice maybe, but when you know the power, weight and can drive. you should have a pretty good estimate of what your et/mph will be.

Why are you getting lag between shifts? Ive never heard of anybody having that issue, maybe I missed Ive been drinking heavily the past 2 days Im a little burned out. Congrats on just getting the car out and running, we all know it can do much better than that.

Well apparently that didn't work out so well for him, even though he knows all of those things. Ah well, c'est la vie. I'm sure it'll get quicker as he gets used to it and gets the kinks worked out.
