Do you guys know if the Z32 Wheels will fit on the stock Brembo Caliper setup?

I run the stock Z32TT tire with the MT ET Streets, and launch 3500# at 7kRPM and >600RWHP in them. I have only mustered a 1.6s 60', but others have hit 1.4s and 1.5s. They are also DOT-legal, so you could drive them (full tire pressure) to the event, lower to 15psi or so to run, then reinflate to drive home. Otherwise you can finnagle a way to take them with you like others have stated.

I have experienced some side-to-side sway near the end of the strip, which is a bit unnerving at 130mph. Just be careful.

Seems like no one has been able to answer this question since I started suggesting the setup 2yrs ago. I'll have to find a Track model owner here in town and see if they'll let me try my wheels on their car just so the question can be answered once and for all.

Thanks guys, sorry I haven't been keeping up with tihs.

My car is actually a track model car with brembo brakes. Beleive it or not, I've been so busy in the past few weeks that I haven't even had the chance to test fit the wheels. My car has had all the intake piping removed for the past 3 weeks for some work that I haven't been able to put it all back together. Hopefully it will be running this weekend. I'll jack it up and test fit the wheels and post a pic here.

From everything I hear, and from just looking, I think they will fit just fine.

This is a good thread. There's a lot of people, myself included, that are looking for wheels to make a good drag radial setup.

Taurran - please let us know as soon as possible if they fit with the Brembos.

I can do a test-fit also, as our Roadster has the Brembos on it. The stock Z32 wheels are only 16", so my gut says they will not fit. They certainly won't fit the front wheel, but since we're talking about getting them over that tiny rear Brembo caliper, I suppose it's possible. If no one has an answer on this by the w/e, I'll do a fit-check Friday afternoon...

To anyone that wants to know: BUMP this back up Thursday afternoon. =)

Nice run in the Z32. 10's are just around the corner. How much boost are you willing to run?

I would run E.T. Streets but If the track was far away and I wasn't trailering my car, I would be afraid to break the diff or if it rains. The M/T radials I found to be lousy in rain but the BFG is a very good compromise. I wouldn't hesitate to drive in the rain on the BFG's although they're not nearly as good as street radials, they're a far cry from M/T E.T. Streets or the M/T radials as far as wet traction is concerned.

That's a good question! It still needs to be fine-tuned, so I've been apprehensive to make the necessary WG adjustments to run more boost. Once we finish chasing the gremlins, I'm going to get it tuned at JWT. We'll see where the best compromises of boost and timing are for the most mid-range TQ and high-end HP. I'd rather 650/600 than 700/550. Bottom line is somewhere between 22 and 28psi. I think I'll be introducing a fuel-delivery problem by then though.

Z you at the track (both kinds!) ;-)

Sorry guys, I've been really busy with things and getting ready for Z Fest this weekend. I wish my car wasn't so low, it's really a pain to jack up. I'm supposed to be installing some new rotors this week so I'll try to test fit them then.

Default 16" OEM stock Z32 wheels do not fit over Brembo rear

I test-fit these tonight. The "splines" on the Z32 wheel hit the Brembo calipers. If you wanted to go through the effort of dremeling them, I believe they would work without issue. My camera batteries died while documenting it tonight. I'll post-up pictures of what I mean another time.

Default Here are the pics

You can see the splines on the Z32 wheel hit the Brembo caliper.

Damn. I have 15mm wheel spacers on so it may be okay for me.

Unfortunately, I'm having some issues with my new brake rotors and it took me a LOT longer to get the job done (still not finished properly). Right now I don't even feel like looking at the car. I'll try it some other time and will post info when I do.

Wheel spacers won't help in this case as it's the inner diameter of the wheel that's the issue here-not an offset issue. You'd have to get the splines machined off of the wheel for it to work based on what Scott showed in his pics.

Im familiar with the concept of wheel offset. I think those "splines" are angled outward some. I'll have to check tomorrow to be sure (at work now).
