My 9 second NHRA roll cage... (lots of pics)
thanks guys, yeah i am pretty much trying to do things once now, it should be back together and running 100% in less than a month, just in time for cooler weather.
Then it will be off to make some NOISE....
if anyone does a cage, please do chromoly, that whole full cage weighs around 55 pounds. well worth the extra costs involved.

Looks really good. I have heard nothing but good things about Mark. Does the cage have a window net? NHRA required that all cars requiring a roll cage to also have a window net.
Jeremy, Z is looking awesome!!!! Only thing you may want to check on is the door bar height. I believe the nhra rule book states that the door bars must be somewhere between the elbow and the shoulder. When we put our door bars in this was difficult. As you know very little clearance between the seat and door. Also you will need window net and nhra license once you run 9's or past 135 mph. Can't wait to see the car done followed by a video down the dragstrip!! Jason
Jeremy,
You are truely crazy! Now, where are you going to take off the weight you added on with your roll cage?
If you aren't busy on Oct 7th - come over to Sebring and bring your helmet. I have added a few extra goodies to my car, and I will be happy to give you a ride on track with them added.

Any structural concerns with removing the rear strut bar? I haven't taken mine out so I don't know what actual structural support it has besides the obvious lateral support in turns.
Thanks guys, nice julian, taking shots at me when i am not around huh?? funny, did you want those handcuffs back?? just let me know...
im not even sure why you shipped me pink cuffs with cookie crumbs all over them??
as far as the door bar goes, we measured it to perfectly sit right between my elbow and shoulder so i should have no problems with it. hopefully...
maybe i will find time soon to clean it all up and get it back together, it just looks like A LOT of work

i was pretty sure they were going to put a bar across the back to link the bars together but they didnt. i guess mark felt like it wasnt really needed, it is just a straight line car...
