Default updated:Ran srwd at bandimere speedway #1 Qualifier w/ video

Hi guys, it has been awhile but I wanted to post up about this past weekend. The event is called street tuner mayhem. It is probably the largest sport compact show and race of the year. We ran the Z in srwd and qualified #1. Car was running very consistently, although not quite as fast as it usually does( not sure what the da was). Qualified with a 10.9 at 129 mph and consistently ran 11.1 @129 through the elimination rounds. However, everybody continued to improve their set-ups through eliminations. In the semi-finals we ran a buddy of ours in his lexus sc300 with supra turbo( t67 I believe) motor and th400 tranny. We won that race and were headed to the finals to run a black Supra turbo 6speed that had just run back to back 10.4's @ 139!!! He was a little slow off the tree so we stood a decent chance. Unfortunately our slick got a hole in it before the final and we had no spare. So we had to forfeit. The owner of the supra is a great guy and we are going to try and set up a run at one of the remaining test and tunes. Two years in a row with a second place. Next year we will have a spare set of slicks on hand and a direct port set-up just in case. Jason

davidv, if memory serves me correctly we ran through 4 rounds of eliminations to get to the final, although the first round was a "bye"(sp) run because we were #1 qualifier. Jason

alberto, right around 600rwhp/600rwtq. Race weight is about 3650 lbs with driver. The driver of the supra weighs a little less than us and said he has around 680-700 rwhp.

Good job --- been there --- having problems deep into competition is not cool --- sometimes other racers can bail you out --- too bad there wasnt another Z racing who could loan you a set --- next year

How much boost? 18-22psi? Stock Greddy turbos or any porting/extrude honing etc...

SergEK, some of our build parts are in the sig. We are running the equivelent of twin 20 g's( slightly diff. exhaust wheel from stock 20g) with 19-20 pounds of boost. stock heads with titanium retainers. We are going to try to upload the videos today. They are not our best runs but is still good footage.

it's too bad you don't run at a track closer to sea level - your fast car would be even faster.

hey bro, that is fast for sure, i would think that it should be faster , do you know whats the weak link, that much hp with a TH and slicks i would think would net you faster times, do you think its the weight of the car or the elevation??

anyways, i love what you guys are doing , keep it up!!!

what kinda 60 foots you pulling, maybe some nitrous would help out ??

jeremy, We lose a little time on the pro tree. Not enough time to build boost before the green. On a test day we run pretty consistently in the mid to high10's because we have time to build boost on the tb. Our race weight also hurts the car a little. This winter we are installing a direct port nitrous system on the car. We will have it dialed in to run as close to a 10 flat @ 135. We dont want to put a full cage in this car but we might make a full nitrous pass and break into the nines and pass the 135mph by "accident". Keep in mind this is at a physical elevation of 5800 feet and da's much higher than that. We will post pics of the nitrous set-up this fall as we install it. thanks again guys for the compliments. Jason
