Default Noob to DRs - need help on size

Im looking into buying some BFG g-Force T/A Drag Radial for my stock 18'' Track wheels. What size would you guys recommend? I did a search and saw a mixed of opinions. Some say for n/a cars would benefit more with smaller width DR. But I see alot of people going with the 265s. What do you guys think?

245/40/18
or
265/40/18

Im still N/a with the following mods: Headers, intake, testpipes, exhaust, pulley and drop in K&N filter.

Any info appreaciated. Thanks.

I think whoever recommended a smaller sidewall DR to you is retarded and doesn't know which way is up when it comes to the subject at hand. Go with the wider ones if you want all the traction you can get out of those two choices.

That said, look at what you're trapping. If your trap speeds have you close to the end of a gear or just into a gear at the end of the track, take that into consideration. You don't want to get a tire size that will force you into a shift that you otherwise wouldn't have to make. That will hurt your times and traps.

265 is not the sidewall

265 is the tread width

Id say with whatever look you like better the 2 centemeters wont matter much with those tires.

265 for bulge, 245 for stock fittiment (spl)

I meant width...not sidewall. I'll probably get the 245s then.

A 245/40 has a smaller sidewall than a 265/40 does, which is what I was referring to and what I assumed (in error apparently) he was referring to.

well seeing as you have a peaky n/a car, why would you want a bigger tire that hurts gearing.

thats differene should be what .4 inches or so. Go with a stock diameter tire unless you need the mph in 4th gear because you are on the bottle and want to prevent shifting into 5th at the track which will hurt ET.

wow that was a runon.
