the closest 1/4 mile you'll find is probably Fontana which pretty far from you

I usually run at Irwindale (weekly) which is only 1/8 mile, fontana which 1/4 but only open every 2 months or so and sometimes LACR in Palmdale which is hella far from you but they are open twice a week

damn this sucks, i really want a quartermile track to run at to simply know what i could run and compare my times to people on this site, plus a 1/4 time is something that is universally used around the world to compare performance

Can you post a slip so I can see your 1/8 time/speed and 1/4 time/speed? You may be losing some on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts before the 1/8. FWIW-I ran 8.8 1/8 stock my 2nd run ever, slowest stock was 13.8 @ 100 with 8.9 1/8...

Also, while it is good to practice where you can (street) that all goes out the window at the track. Like mentioned some tracks will be worse than your practice pad, some will be much better. You just need to practice a lot so you can adapt quickly-in a matter of 1 run or two, that way you can maximize times on your track on a perticular day. Good luck, you seem to have a good attitude about getting better, that + practice is all it takes. Nobody here started out driving, launching, shifting great

You got an 8.8 on your second run ever STOCK? It seems that you're a natural at this or something.

Anyway my mods are; a pop charger, an RS*R exhaust, and a 1/2 plenum spacer and the BFG radials, honestly i feel kind of embarrased that i have all these mods and all i have to show for is a measley 8.9 lol.

13.80, 13.77, 13.86 only 3 stock runs in that order. And let me stress, Im not a natural-I practiced and practiced for years getting it right. I used to go to the track when I was 16/17 every Friday night for Test and Tune to try to get better. You will hit plateau's but keep trying and you will get better. Also diff locations = different times, who's to say I may not even be able to hit a 9.0 in a stock Z where you run? Compare drag times like you (should) compare dyno numbers, with a grain of salt

Were you at qualcomm friday night? I was in the silver G that was racing I hope you are not the Z that kept red lighting. I suggest trying a better track like irwindale. I'm pretty sure you will get better times I've heard the track prep there is awesome. Cali speedway will have 1/4 racing on the 28th this month.

Just so you know most N/A Z's don't run faster than 9.0-9.3 at qualcomm due to the track conditions. Remember it's a parking lot not an actual well prepped track. Have you run at Barona yet?

I forgot that this was only 1/8-mile racing. 2.0 seconds is OK. I see no 330-foot time? That is the first to second gear shift. I believe that 8.9 seconds shows the second to third gear shift.

Good start and I assume that you are taking each gear to redline. This is what I suspect: You are allowing the RPM to drop too far between shifts.

true but all the difficult parts are happening in the 1/8 mile, so that's the place to practise

O snap, are you the guy in the single turbo G? Yea dude that was me, i was gonna apoligize for the red lights but I couldnt see through your window tint.I was trying to be too agressive looking for a perfect reaction time...perfect this... perfect that.Plus i was having fun with the anouncers about messing up so much with the red lights, the most fun i've had at the races to date...even though my times were just OK.

Your G is beautiful by the way. I remember seeing you race last year and kicking everyones ***...always wondered what happened to that silver G

Well now you know what happened ST with a VRT built engine. The best I got that night was 8.5 spinning through 1st and 2nd on the muscle car side. I have BFGs also, but I have 245s instead of the 265s. I didn't think the 265s would fit on the stock G wheels. Well like every one says play around with the tire pressure and different RPM launches. I have to admit you are one of the faster 350zs at qualcoom. The fastest I've ran N/A was 9.1 with a 2.1 60ft after messing around with the tire pressure all night. I did that run bracket racing and broke out since my dial in was 9.3. Last friday was my first time running this year I might go to irwindale tomorrow to see if I can get better times.

Your 8.9 run was against me don't feel bad Zs normally don't run fast there due to the crappy track prep and track. I think the only way to hook up there is with slicks and a long burnout.

I have a 5AT also. I might switch to the FI VB the stillen wasn't shifting fast enough, but I'm not sure if that was due to me not having traction in 1st and 2nd.

For that 1.9 60' it was a 2k launch and 30psi in the tires. Let's keep the new secret a secret.

Damn dude nice times...our mods are almost identical. It seems that you're pretty good at the shifting, and apparently the launching to

o and about the 330ft, i have no idea why my time slip doesnt show that.
