Yeah, I remembrs that guy from PR, It seems as if all those cars were 1/2 second faster than they should have been..Track must be downhill, but those Puerto Ricans sure do know their racing, specially up in these parts!
Rubio did go 10.3 on his old setup, which still was not a street car...No interior,full cage,fuel cell,car had a resevoiur tank over the intercooler, they would fill with Ice water..Car could not make a 10 mile drive if it had to..Not a street car..To me a street car is full interior, or 90%, registered,insured,capable of a 200 mile round trip, daily drivable, off the shelf parts..

 

I agree completely. "Street car" and "able to be driven on the street" are two different things in my book.

 

Thats the problem with NHRA "street class" guidlines...I like what Atco does, the have an ultimate street car challange once and a while..The car has to be able to complete a 25 mile drive, run the fastest time, THEN complete another 25 mile drive without refilling the tank!!!

 

^^Thats a great idea! I didnt know Rubio had all that done at that point, Id eliminate that as a street car as well. I would love to weigh my new set-up as Ive gained weight and lost some in places as well. Id like to imagine Im around 3200lb in race trim we'll see.

How much does your car alone weigh? I dont know how much you weigh..

My car with me in it usually weighs in at around 3500 depending on how much gas have and how much I ate that day.. I am weighing in at 260ish..

 

Did you remove the passenger seat? What else besides tools/spare?

No, who said I removed my passenger seat...The only thing out of the car was the Spare tire,jack, and material in the very rear near the spare..Race weight was 3560ish..The stock seats in my car weigh a ton, I currently have Sparco Monzas..Not that much lighter actually..
