I think we're missing the point. For my car, street tires spin too much and a MT tire bogs. I need something in between.

What tire pressures are you running and at what rpm do you launch?

Either increase your launch rpm or increase your tire pressures on the MT's. No need to go get new tires.

I have a 5AT so I can only launch as high as 2500 rpm. I had 35psi in the tires.

My car IS a street car..MT Drag radials are DOT approved radial, same as Nitto, except they actually work..

OK, lets start over again. The tires that I use daily are regular Z rated street tires. When I use them at the track they spin too much. I then tried a Mickey Thompson drag radial and they were too sticky and my car bogged off the line. Im going to try a less sticky Nitto drag radial and see what happens.

I wasnt talking about different tires being DOT rated or not.

If you bogged off the line on MT Dr's then you were not launching hard enough..that means they actually got traction, unlike the Nittos will do..The Nittos will spin just like your street tires.

I launched as hard as you possibly can with a 5AT.
