edit: I think I'm getting the "Bri" guys confused.

Neal's word is as good as gospel. He's one of my best friends, but you didn't know that so no biggie.

Yes, completely stock Longblock...all I did was bolt on the turbo kit, test pipes, exhaust, clutch and flywheel, got it tuned and that's how it currently sits.

RPMs on the launch are around 6000. The reason you can't really hear them is because my exhaust is so quiet.

The Borla is quiet, only problem is it won't flow well enough for my new setup so my car will be a good bit louder in the spring.

Well you're setup is definitely braking the mold ... I guess because it's actually not breaking with all the stress you're putting on it. I take it you have a very good tuner.

It's been running like this for over a year and a half and 13K+ miles. Honestly I think the VQ's reliability with boost is all tuning based. You hardly EVER hear about boosted guys popping motors anymore and we have more boosted cars then ever on here.

GRD Tuned my car...Tuan really know's what he's doing.

No...stock rev limiter. I'm convinced that's another thing that blows these motors up. The stress on the connecting rods is greatly increased with higher revs.

That's exactly what I was going to follow up on ... I have yet to hear of any VQs going boom on stock REV limiter @ stock boost. It's usually when you mess with both, that's when boom time happens. That's good to hear ... when I eventually take the f/i plunge I won't be messing with either.

edit: there's a member in here (forgot his sn) that has 83K+ on his greddy TT setup.

Ok i'm trying to improve my launches here, but i dont understand...you launch so high? Wouldn't you bounce of the rev limiter after maybe half a second if you launch so aggresively then half to shift almost right away? I've heard of people launching high at maybe...4500 or 5500 rpm before but never in the 6000's.

Sorry for the noob question and slight hijack but i've seen the 60's you pull of and was curious

The rpms drop to around 5000 and then climb back up once the car gets out of the hole.

not sure what your experiance is running just n/a but is this something that you tried when you didn't have this much power or were you more conservative?

Btw...we need a Z like this where i run in S.D., Z's are rare where i run and the ones that show up besides myself are always first time noobs that run ****y times and i never see again. Its awesome to see Z's like this actually exist

Are you on the stock diff? Looks like it can't cope with the power during the burn out.

Except me. Tuned by the same shop, stock REV limiter and the same psi as Brian. Sometimes I guess, the rods just let go.
