Congrats on the new time.
If you look at your timeslips, you'll see that it is all in the 60'.
Every .10 improvement you make in the 60' = .15 in the 1/4 mile.
It's always a good day at the track when you beat your previous best.
Bummer about the axle though. Are axles a weak link in the drivetrain?

He already described preloading-its basically pushing the clutch in 1/2-1" so the car doesnt move forward but is ready to disengage. You do this instead of holding the clutch down to the floor and coming up and dropping it from that point, if you did that you would shock the drivetrain upon release.
I posted my video/story in the FI section on what I did

Ok n/m, it's just keeping the clutch pedal pushed in right before it engages, correct? If so, that's what I do

This is another good argument for having line locks, since it's much easier to let the clutch out a bit knowing the car won't move until you let the button go, that's the way prostock cars launch

even though I agree it's another step however at least on our tracks here. If don't hold the ebrake or line lock the car starts rolling the second I revv above 4000 so I have to have some kind of brake no matter what.
maybe you east coast guys are blessed with better prepped tracks but here it's a pain

Hey Alberto,
You think the light weight flywheel could be one of the reasons i am bogging off the line?
Im also tossing around the idea of going back one more time this year before the season is out There are 4 more test and tunes and a street night yet in November.
Going to see if i can get the time to replace a axle down to 20mins

Congrats on the times and sorry to hear about the axle. What slicks and in what size were you using? Any plans to upgrade the axles?
I've never preloaded on my launches-luckily I haven't snapped anything yet as I've launched at 7k rpm with as little as 11psi in the ET streets. Hope to get back to the track soon as it's starting to cool off here in TX.
