That must not be good for your clutch The 60' time you posted of 2.09 was achieved with this technique? Just curious because I have cut a 2.04 60' by slipping the clutch at about 2500 rpms. I know track prep and tires play a role, but maybe you can achieve the same with a lower rpm?

I would think that launching at 5500 rpm and feathering the **** out of the clutch is not only bad for your clutch but also as effective as launching somewhere between 2000 and 3500 rpm and feathering not as much.

The clutch is made for it... and keep in mind.
I have heavier-than-stock 18s and 295 series tires in the rear. I've tried launching lower, and it bogs like hell. Others can launch lower because they dont have as much tread to move.

I don't think clutch is made to withstand that kind of launching everytime you're at the strip. I, too, have heavier than stock 18s rims and 245/275 combo.

I launched at 3000 rpms and feathered heavily to hit a 1.91 60ft on street tires. I don't go to the strip all the time, but my stock clutch is holding up fine after 1.5yrs with 370-400whp.
