What modifications were needed to fit those 28" tires? I assume you had to cut your rear fenders? Do you think a 27" would fit with rolled fenders? And last-do you know what rear camber your running?

Yes+1 on a serious note Jeremy, how did you fit those 28"s under there??Are the rims 28x10? And did you loos or gain gearing at the top?

28" tire would help him gain (extend) gearing throughout...he still had to hit 5th though.

Audible--

After all that hard work you've done to your car, you still don't have a switch installed on your dash to open the circuit to the brake fuse?

Anyways, I bet you are absolutely psyched with your car--it looks great! You did a good job on it! If you ever get the chance, try to get some in-cabin video, I think we'd all love to see that...

Good luck and safe driving!

If you are going auto PLEASE spend the dough and go 4l80E for your sake so you have OD.

are you changing the rear gear with the auto? If not, drive around in 5th all day on the highway and out to the races one night and see how you like it.

you could run a higher gear in the rear with the 4l80e and leave the line better while still being able to drive it around liek a normal street car.

yeah guys, they are 15x9 s with 5.5 BS. the tires are 28X9s.

the reason i am using 28 inch slicks is because with the TH400 in there and 3.54 rear gears, i will be right at the top of 3rd gear according to my friend who races mustangs and has a similar setup.

i just cut the inside lip on the fenders out, it was easy and yes, it chipped the paint off down to the undercoating (primer) in a couple spots, i did it last thing friday before i went to the track, i dont have a lot of spare time, i think i am about to get the whole car painted here soon, thats why i dont car. i will touch up the couple little spots though ASAP... it clears the slicks by a lot now though, so if your fenders were rolled really good, you could clear them.

yeah the slicks def made the gears a lot longer, i was in the bottom of 5th for about 200 feet.

i have in car video as well for the couple practice runs on friday night at lower boost. i will get the link to them.

no i never put on the brake fuse switch, i will before i go again, i always just pulled the fuse out.

here is a site that my boy threw his in car camera in for friday night, i just ran twice, once was the first time on the new slicks, it was at 20 psi of air, i spun a lot.. you will see on the video, i started the camera really soon so i didnt have to worry about it, the videos are unedited and the volume is up WAY too loud, i think i did that on accident..

http://www.racecameras.net/display.php?id=7

these were at 15.5 psi, you can hear the clutch slip on the run with the camera out the window, that run was like 11.5 at 124 i think, i was definitely babying the car as you can see with my shifts...

the second video is right below it, i wish i had the in car cam during the day on sunday but i didnt... just skip the beginning of the videos

The video's bring back memories........The tires do look nice. The 28 inch tall tires generally hook a little bit better then 26's. They have more sidewall and are generally forgiving. I am assuming you are doing a turbo 400 and they should work well.....I used to come through the traps at like 7000 at 133 with a C-4, 26 inch tall tires and a 3.66 diff ratio.....nice runs, you will be mid 10's with an auto...
Peace

thanks man, yeah i have a turbo 400 and everything needed to go into my car sitting here in my back room. i wanted to see what i could run with the stock tranny and stock axles just for fun. hopefully i will have time to put it all in early next week. that is the plan, i should start on monday morning.

its a turbo 400 with reverse manual valve body. 3 speed, good to 1300-1500 foot pounds of torque. transbrake on it as well. 3800 stall. with 28s and my 3.54 , it should be a perfect combo without the risk of pushing high hp through the stock tranny.
